Sometimes it's the principle of the fight - not the principal.

Is it the duty of a detail officer to chase after customers who don't pay their tab?

If you are looking for something for a kid that has everything go to Toys R Us - they are selling "serial killer dolls with knife included.  Can't blame this one on the kids!

Students  who need to park their cars at the school may not have to pay YET - it's being studied.  Let's hope that if the powers that be chose to charge - make sure everyone who uses a parking space be charged.

$16,000.00 collected from student/athletes user fees went to refurbishing the gym floor.

Why are we subjected to every breath Lindsey Lohan takes?

The proposed budget for the Saugus School System ends the Presentation with:   "Money should not stand in the way of our children's education:  The price $26,516,784."
No one would disagree but where does it all come from?

A petition is circulating to stop the user fees in sports.  People want their school officials to come up with the money.

There are more kids skateboarding than ice skating -

How can anyone go on strike at this time dark time?

Ever wonder how really smart those "Smart Cars" are?

Saugus Youth Hockey can take a bow as most of its  talented hockey players wind up going to private high schools.

A few surrounding towns have instituted a water ban - drink up.

While we all believe in law and order we also believe in fair play.

Pop Warner must be rolling in his grave.

No one seems to know what's going in that lot on Route One.  The property was owned by Frank G.  Someone spent a lot of dough in the site prep department.  Let's hope there is a taker.

Does anyone see kids mowing their parent's front lawn?

School all year round sounds like a good idea - the kids aren't weeding anyway.

Saugonians can take great pride in knowing that all classrooms in the Saugus school system recite the Pledge of Allegiance each morning during school days.

The city of Arlington just voted to make the Pledge of Allegiance mandatory in all their schools.  But who voted it out in the first place?

Just why are there two youth football leagues in town?

A lot of Saugonians are hoping that McKinnon's comes to town.

If summer were to end tomorrow it would be enough for some of us.

Another Mexican restaurant is coming to Saugus.  We are becoming a much more diverse community.

With so many homes in foreclosure, developers are having a hard time selling new homes at any kind of a profit.

Someone said that no matter how well a program or plan might be, the politics wreck it.

A proven way to contribute to one's town is to buy local.

The Farmer's Market needs a more accessible location.

Has anyone checked all the illegal signs that are put up without authority?  Residents go out and buy "No Parking" signs and place them in front of their property - how's that for taking the law into their own hands?

Seems like they are serving a lot of "whine" at the Lavo Restaurant/Nightclub.

Those faithful to recycling are paying for those who don't.  If residents choose not to recycle then they should have to pay the freight.  Pay as you throw is the only way to go.

Some of those in the know think that red headed Falzone is a younger version of the elder   Go-Green Gore!

The hens are leaving their coops in Saugus soon.  There be no more great cold cuts at either White Hen store as the Seven Eleven is taken over at both places and will be serving packaged meats.

Heard that Square One Mall is up for sale.

If the new Black Panthers want to kill all the white people, who will be left to pay the bills?

Notice how many empty store fronts there are in Saugus?  Circuit City, the store front in Cliftondale formerly Hoffman's/Video store, Eastern Tool building on Ballard Street, stores at Village Park, to name a few.

Three cheers to the Saugus School Committee, along with the town manager, for finding the funds to defray the "user" fees for kids to participate in sports - money well spent.

Just how many kids are there in the Saugus Youth Hockey Program?  It's amazing to think families can still afford the expensive sport.

The police log reveals that neighbors are complaining about the noise coming from that new restaurant/nightclub/ZaZa's.  Seems to me I've heard that song before.

The high school was built with a 50 year life expectancy.  Time's up but the town now wants to upgrade the fence.  Why don't we let the next owner of the property decide? Why would we want to spend money to block out a potential tax paying business?????

Great news about the hockey team.  Now it's time to put that same effort into getting rid of user fees.  All the funds going to drug awareness would be better spent subsidizing the athletic programs.  Maybe if we get rid of the user fees, some of those affected won't become "users" in other ways.

Ever wonder how much tax revenue we are losing with all those empty buildings?

With so many false alarms going off at the Mall, when does the shoppers know its for real??

Do you think that crew renovating the former Zaza's wants to put in another night club?  Of Course not!!

Why is that people who move in next to playgrounds think they can shut the kids down from using the playgrounds???

How many of those fans mourning the loss of the late Michael Jackson attended a Memorial Day Parade?

Many that advocated keeping Saugus a Town support City liquor hours!

Some BOS members have rolled back so much on the roll back that new campaign literature will be needed at next years election, along with new volunteers!

Instead of being known as the "One Horse Town," Saugus is now known as the "Last Call" Town for all the jack-asses that want to drink till 2AM.

As much as we hate the Yankees, kudos to their move of banning Lady Gaga Forever!!!

At least we can rest assured that she won't be singing our National Anthem when we beat the Yankees.

Some say NO on a roll back may equal YES on Recall!

What ever happen to people listening?

Those Perdue people really don't know their chickens when they refer to a rooster as Gladys.

When most of us went to school, the word "misspoke" meant "I told a lie or a fib."  The words "used poor judgment" meant  "I screwed up," and a shortfall meant, "I spent money I didn't have." The Princess just came out with another one - extortion can now be blamed for having too much of the bubbly.

Does anyone ever take responsibility for their own actions??

Let's face the reality; if us taxpayers didn't try to payoff the $1M outstanding for the rink, NO ONE would be skating.  And while we are on the subject, maybe those guys meeting in the dead of night at a secret, undisclosed location have the right idea - get rid of the rink, build the high school on it's site and sell the Route One property to a medical center looking to re-locate and let them build a new fence.

Not for nothing but with our Memorial Day services coming up wouldn't you think our local, hometown newspaper would put something on the front page???  Enough with the rink!

One of the best ways to go green is to bring back the clothes lines.

Roll call vote too Long?...... Town Meeting is already too LONG!!

Some of the old green sidewalks have seemed to last longer then last years new white... File under GO GREEN!

Saugus is getting swept REAL GOOD!

NEWS FLASH........ Monies have been found for the Library and without any new taxes! WE are now on the up of the Saugus roller coaster ride!

Debate will start weather the Hamilton Street project will be a Chevy or a Cadillac.

Some say the questioning of the Library was like the Warren Commission! We should have done the same for enterprise accounts!

Good for you Bob Long! You are 71 and proud of IT!

Problems with Town policy? You now can go before the Board of Selectmen and use Citizens forum........ George Washington would be proud!

Rumor is Saugus may ask Kowloon China to be its sister city! Great idea!!

Many find those Legal Seafood Ads to be as offensive as week-old fish'

How lucky we are to have our leaves hauled away and put to good use!

If those "politically correct" people have their way, soon enough it will be illegal to say "God Bless you" when you sneeze.

Now that the hill has been removed from Route One will the Hilltop Restaurant have to change its name?

If you want to send money to Mexico just go to the Bank of America phone line and press #5.

Instead of buying modular classrooms for the Oaklandvale School why can't we put some of our Saugus carpenters to work and build permanent classrooms?

The streets of Saugus are full of "officers of the law" enforcing traffic rules.  Keep up the good work.

The Belmonte School keeps getting better and better both inside and out.  The heating, lighting and other upgrades help to bring the "grades" of the students UP as well.

A lot of kids in town are looking for Lacrosse programs.  I'll bet our old Indians neighbors are happy!

Some kids have to make up snow days while kids at the Waybright will be making up Rat Days.

Out of the top 50 town employees making over 100G's there is only one female.

Heard that a big hit is coming from the state.  Time to tighten the belts in town.

Some towns are purchasing bicycle racks so students can take their bikes to school along with getting some exercise in the process.

Out of towners often comment that Saugonian drivers are among the most courteous on the road.
It looks like it's going to be Taboo on the run.
Are P.E.T.A. members allowed to sit on leather seats?

There is a movement about by several Belmonte students to test the quality of lunch room food.

After spending thousands of dollars on a research study, it was determined that recess and physical education was vital for the well-being and learning capacity of students.  All the team that lead the study had to do was ask a few teachers.

Could the Town get into the firewood business now that dozens of trees have been felled?

National Grid was nice enough to send out updates on utility outages and progress being made but most customers had no power to read them.

If pedestrians can safely make their way through Cliftondale Square  on foot, they then can go on to Kane's Donuts - that's the real test of skill.  Customers are thinking about taking up a collection for a cross walk in front of the store especially with the new addition coming.

The campaign trail is getting busy with candidates out all weekend  - even in the rain.

The "coast is clear" at the Waybright School - students will be allowed to return on February 22nd.

Where were all the kids this past school vacation week?  Do any of them ever play out of doors any more?

Can you imagine how many great things could happen in our town if the town manager and superintendant sat down together over a beer and figured out a workable plan for our town?

Why does Saugus have two "official" websites?

One thing you can say for Tiger Woods, at least he didn't blame his mother.

O.K. now do we have it right that a solution to the broken down eye-sore of a fence on Route One needs a billboard?  Thought that any new billboards were outlawed in MA.  Two wrongs don't make a right.

Is there any hope on the horizon that kids can play sports without paying for the opportunity?

Sports involvement has been credited with helping kids become productive people in many ways and also helps to avoid drug pitfalls. What better way to spend our tax $$$$?

Generally, when rats appear it's the housekeeping at issue.

Just because pets are cute, owners still are not allowed to bring them into stores.

And while on the subject, do you know that Simplicity offers patterns to make dog's clothes?

The Super is needed on the weather station.

Pretty soon dogs will have their own reality show.

Just because love is blind, it doesn't mean that relatives are.

People all over town are asking the question - how could anyone stand by and watch a brutal beating of a 15 year old girl?

Those parents upset about the Waybright School probably don't remember the fire of 63 when a portion of the old high school burnt to the ground.  Students faced two platoon sessions all through their high school years and funny thing, their class of 65 produced some of the highest achievers ever.  Go figure.

Can irate residents put up No Parking signs- on town property - on their own?

Clients of the troubled fitness center say it's the cleanest around. How many other fitness centers do we have in town and how clean are they??

The selectmen are doing their homework in bringing "law and order" back into Town. It's almost like Sheriff Dillon and the Lone Ranger are "covering their backs!"

With that being said, let's hope they don't go overboard either.  We don't want to have the Salem Witch Trials re-appear.

Looks like a passion for politics is making a comeback in Saugus!  Two candidates have announced a run for the state reps seat held by Mark Falzone.  One thing for sure there's going to be many debates.

Heard that the Ballard School will re-open under the supervision of our School Department.  Sure beats any more "temporary" buildings.

When you drive through Cliftondale on Lincoln Avenue doesn't it feel like you are back to the Dodgem's at an amusement park? With trucks, SUV's and busses traversing daily, what are the odds of pedestrians making it across the street.  Can something be done?

One selectman is going to be getting the title of "The Comeback Kid."

Guess having a name like the Saints carries a lot of weight "upstairs."  Good luck to them - they deserved to win but they got a lot of help from Someone.

Speaking of rats - an old joke - "We were so poor even the rats ate out."  Glad to see that Waybright got them to move out.

Make sure you fill out and mail back your census forms. No one seems to know just how many Saugonians there are living in town.  The numbers never seem to change but the building permits do.

Is that a legitimate sign coming out of the little shopping mall in the Center?  It reads "No Left Turn" but everyone does.

Smart move on the part of town officials to keep the "grandfathering" alive in our Ballard and Evans Schools - Saugus kids need a home.

If all the birds flew south, what's that chirping noise heard in the backyards of Saugus?

Dozens of names are being tossed around to run for seats at the state level now that a two-party system is back.  Long time pols are hearing footsteps.

There is a movement throughout the state to push for longer school days.

How can any building "Function" without water and sewer?

Campaigns for both state rep and state senator seats and shaping up.

Was it the alcohol back rub instead of the toothpaste that got an official in trouble?

In Aruba the casinos stay open all night but last call for liquor is 1 AM.

Hats off to the new Saugus Board of Selectmen!!! They are doing a great job of protecting our town.
